- Nanodesigner has been tested on a AMD dual core system (4200+) running Windows XP pro 64 with a GeForce 6800 GT videocard. It ran without a hitch. Performance is very good. Unfortunately Nanodesigner has to run in WOW64-mode (emulation of a 32-bit OS) for the time being.

- JDK 6 (Mustang), to be released in the summer of 2006, will include a Java2D OpenGL pipeline. This means that JOGL can render directly into the OpenGL drawable used by Java2D. In the near future Nanodesigner can use the lightweight GLJPanel widget instead of the heavyweight GLCanvas that we have been using until now with all the benefits that this implies. The best part is that no changes need to be made to the JOGL application.
